Our host hotel is the Holiday Inn Conference Center, located right in the downtown Decatur area. The board researched and looked at hotels throughout Atlanta and found that the best location was right in midst of Decatur, a town that has a MARTA station in its belly, a lively nightlife, and strong literary leanings, as hosts of the nationally renowned Decatur Book Festival. Georgia Romance Writers will now be part of that tradition.
Along with greener ways to come to the meeting, we’ve also moved the meeting to an earlier time, to allow everyone to leave the hotel for lunch with friends or critique groups at many of the low cost and fun places to eat that are within walking distance. A full breakfast is available buffet-style at the beginning of the meeting.
Parking:
Free parking is available at the parking deck located next to First Baptist Church and across the street from the hotel (entrance is on Commerce, approximately 1/2 block past the intersection of Clairemont Avenue and Commerce.) The Holiday Inn has provided the dates for our events and they have blocked off space for GRW. Look for the “Georgia Romance Writers Park Here” sign at the entrance to the parking deck!

1) Free parking at parking deck across the street on Commerce for monthly meetings only
2) Paid parking in hotel parking deck. No more free parking at hotel. If you park in the Holiday Inn hotel parking garage, please be prepared to pay.

Remember to choose the best option for you. We are not requiring you to park in a specific location, but we do want to make you aware of all the options. We do advise that you follow any stated regulations before you park. You are responsible for any fees or tickets that you incur if you don’t comply with posted signs.
