Mollie Traver

Craft Speaker

Mollie Traver is a content and copy editor based in Los Angeles, California. Before striking out on her own, she spent four years as an editor at St. Martin’s Press, where she was deeply involved in each stage of book publication, from submission evaluation and acquisition, to editing, production, cover design, and marketing. Arriving right in the middle of the dystopian craze, she soon started specializing in young adult fiction and had the pleasure and honor of working with a host of New York Times bestselling and award-winning authors, including Jana Oliver (the Demon Trappers Series), P.C. Cast (the House of Night series), Catherine Linka (A Girl Called Fearless), and Amy Kathleen Ryan (the Sky Chasers Series).

Mollie lives for the process of unfolding and rebuilding that’s inherent in every edit, and she is known by her clients for her deep-tissue, twelve-page editorial letters, unrelenting attention to detail, and empathetic communication style. She caught her passion for shaping other writers’ work at Stanford University, where she graduated with a degree in creative writing.

When not at her desk, Mollie can be found teaching workshops on diverse topics in writing and publishing, or somewhere outside in beautiful Southern California, refueling her brain with running, backpacking, and photography. Learn more about Mollie and her editorial approach at www.mollietraver.com.
