Every April, dues come due–$30.00 for general/associate member renewal until May 1 ($35.00 thereafter). New member dues are $35.00, payable upon receipt of initial membership application. Make your check or money order payable to Georgia Romance Writers, and mail it, along with a completed application/renewal form to:
Membership, Georgia Romance Writers, Inc.
Terry Brock, 907 Andora Lane Marietta, GA 30064
Members who have not renewed by June 30 will be dropped from the roster and will no longer receive their copies of GRW’s newsletter The Galley, winner of RWA’s 1997, 2003, and 2006 award for Best Chapter Newsletter (Large Chapter). New members (those who have joined after January 1 of the same calendar year) do not need to renew their membership until the following year.
GRW has set up a database for our members. In an effort to encourage networking and assistance between our members, we will publish a membership roster which will include the details gathered on this application/renewal form. This roster will be available at the annual Moonlight & Magnolias Conference and/or mailed out to non-conference-attending members. Quarterly updates may be available upon request.
Remember, Georgia Romance Writers is a chapter of Romance Writers of America. To belong to GRW, you must also belong to RWA. This is not our requirement, but theirs. We could lose our chapter affiliation if we don’t comply, and they check our membership roster to make sure we do. We must drop your name from our membership roster if you are not an RWA member. Reinstatement is not automatic once you’ve been dropped – you must pay GRW membership dues again. Besides, membership in RWA is a must if you are serious about writing romances (or anything else!), and well worth the minimal cost (less per week than coffee and a Danish – a small investment in your career!). Please keep your membership in RWA current. If you are not already a member and need a membership application, let us know and we’ll send you one.
After you join or renew, be sure to speak up, speak out, volunteer, participate, and most of all, make yourself at home and feel welcome! We’re glad to have you.
GRW normally meets the third Saturday of each month. Any changes in dates are published in The Galley, the monthly newsletter of Georgia Romance Writers, Inc. You should also check out the “Meetings” link on the GRW homepage.
GRW offers all out-of-state members an associate membership. Associate members receive the member rate for GRW’s annual Moonlight & Magnolias Conference and the Maggie Award of Excellence, and access to The Galley.
